Certificate of Commendation

The award is made in recognition of exceptional work or service by an individual, institution or organization in the port, shipping or maritime fields. Any number of Certificates of Commendation may be presented in any given year. Nominations may be made by any Corporate Member or Associate Member of the Association. Active members of the Association are eligible for nomination for this award.

The recommendation for the award is submitted to the Board of Directors for consideration at its quarterly meetings. The Certificate of Commendation Award is accompanied by a letter from the Association’s Chair outlining the reasons for making the award. Travel expenses are not paid for certificate recipients. Announcement of the Certificates of Commendation are made at the Association’s Annual Meeting.
